As I write todays Prayer of Hope, and I try to bring to your attention, the events of Christ’s suffering, and crucifixion in this Holy week, I hope, you can see how it is related to your life, in everyday living. For once we see that we are changed. And for the good. A transformation, takes place in our lives spiritually. Which then in turn becomes evidence in our lives. In who we are, how we relate, how we think. etc. Todays subject matter is on forgiveness. For Christ forgave.
I know this is evidence. That can touch our hearts. So that we could understand with truth, and yes, emotion, by scripture, we can relate to him. Dear ones, this is not about religion. This is about relationship, with the King of Kings, for he is truly the only way, the truth and the life. There are many symbols, in religions, and many good examples. But none can come to the Father, God Almighty, but through Christ. Salvation is to be found in him alone, there is none else whom God has given who can save us. Acts 4:12
And, none of them, and I will say this again, none of them, suffered, died and was resurrected, as Christ was for us. There is no one else, who actually went into hell, to get the keys from the devil, for us. Prophecy, has proven time, and again, that he is the true messiah.
So with that being said, and as I continue this journey, of understanding Christ. We are at the place of where Christ is crucified. Crucifixion, is one of the cruelest forms of death. And normally, when it was done, they tied the people to the cross. But in the situation with Christ, the Romans actually nailed him, to the cross. The way he suffered, and the way he died, was horrible. But it just shows how great this love is for us. And yet, here in scripture, he calls out to God, for forgiveness, of those that did that. I cannot even imagine, his suffering. How tender his heart is. And it reminds me, that forgiveness, needs to be in all of our hearts. Or God will not forgive us. And because of his great love, I, in my own little way, try to imitate, his love as well. The good thing about this, and I can say it as a testimony. Every time I have had to forgive others, I feel free. And thats really what it is all about. All of Christ’s sacrifice, in forgiving others, and ourselves. That sets us free. And free for eternity.
For in that process, God forgives us, when we accept Christ, and repent. For when you give your heart, to Jesus, you are inviting him to be your Lord and savior. You are assured, your name will be in the Book of Life, and God will open the doors to heaven to you. Without Salvation, one can not have that peace. Or knowledge, for the word of God does bring truth.
Luke 23:33-34. AND WHEN THEY WERE COME TO THE PLACE, WHICH IS CALLED CALVARY, THERE THEY CRUCIFIED HIM, AND THE MALEFACTORS (a person who commits a crime or some other wrong.) ONE ON THE RIGHT HAND, AND THE OTHER ON THE LEFT. THEN SAID JESUS, FATHER, FORGIVE THEM; FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO. AND THEY PARTED HIS RAIMENT (clothes) AND CAST LOTS.
A Prayer of Hope ~
Father, as I write a Prayer of Hope. I pray, father, that forgiveness, would be seen in our hearts, and in my heart as well. That we would consider all that Christ went through, and even here, he tells us to forgive. By his example, because he forgave those that crucified him. But this sacrifice is not to be mocked. And Lord, Salvation can only clear the slate, with repentance.
Lord, I pray, that whoever is reading this, that has unforgiveness toward you, would also forgive you. Lord, I sense that, I am not sure why, but that is why someone who is reading this, is angry, and will not make the final commitment to give their heart to you. Oh Lord, how that grieves you, and that person. I pray, for peace, and joy, and true forgiveness. To reach the heart…..Father, I pray that one would learn to forgive others, so they can be free.
Lord, I don’t why things are the way they are, sometimes, but I have learned to trust you. and I have learned you are sovereign, you are not mocked. Father you do forgive, and by Christ you have made a way.
I know this subject, requires much attention, and I pray, to bring more insight to this, so others can be free. For I know the bondage one can be in, when unforgiving. And I know it limits, our prayers from being answered, and from having true peace. It grows a bitter root. Lord, Thank you for forgiving me, and teaching me to forgive. For if I had not, you would not have forgiven me. I am so grateful, for that, for it sets me free. And, that makes a way for salvation. I thank you again, for our Lord Jesus and his sacrifice, that teaches us to forgive. Thank you Father. Amen
